Unbelievably bad that they could even release this product
I’ve been using Quicken since it’s beginning (always on an Apple product). I went to Quicken Essentials a few years ago and after a few updates, it seems to work fine. I haven’t used the program to pay bills for years but I use it to pull all of my checking accounts and credit cards together in one database and then, using the categories, I can analyze how I spend my money. At tax time, I print the IRS schedules to give to my accountant.
I tried Quicken 2015 last year but it would always freeze when it tried to convert my Essentials database.
I just bought Quicken 2106 and, lo and behold, it has the same issue. When it starts the database conversation and asks for my persmission to go the OS X Keychain to get my Intuit ID, it freezes and the spinning ball starts (when you try the force quit, it says that Quicken is not responding).
Intuit has always been an enigma to me…he was a friend of Steve Jobs and sat of the Apple board. Jobs was a stickler for programing excellence but Intuit has always been just a mediocre application…great in concept but poor in execution. Jobs would have called it a piece of s**t.
My next step is to see if there is an update from Intuit (since I bought it from the Apple Applications Store, I’d think it was the latest and best version)…if that doesn’t work, I’ll go for a refund and go back to Essentials.
